Thanks for this piece. I will follow the Issue. One of my friends said she will vote independent and her other friend, a lawyer, said he will vote for himself. I told her, “well that’s two votes for Trump, you really like him, huh?” I am democrat, but I think Trump will win. You mentioned the independents, the swing states and swing people, plus the “open” secret hate votes. There is also the agism votes (“Biden forgets things and he is too old, he makes gaffs”), the perpetual optimist votes (this time Trump will be better), and so many more distractions and disgruntlement that forget what a dictatorship looks like. Power is sweet for those who have it. They want to keep it at any costs. Sad, but I am afraid we have a heavy momentum of democratic erosion well on the way. Thanks again.
