Anyone can seek whiteness or support it regardless of ethnicity. It’s extra sad when non-Euro centric people do it.

Also, remember, the Spaniards were the first to use the Doctrine of Discovery to conquer lands in the west and commit genocide in the name of their monarchy and religion. They annihilated many indigenous tribes in Central and South America.

Today, they still mostly run these economies and continue to push back the local people to the hinterlands. Not much has changed. Lack of adequate education in America makes us forget that not all Latinos are indigenous. Many are also white-believing. They come to America when they see too much power growing among politicians who support indigenous communities.

It’s similar to when Afrikaans left South African when apartheid ended, many for America where apartheid works well enough for them.
