Thanks for sharing. I recall the doll being a very toxic entity to women’s identity and sense of image when I was young, especially black women. So, I was surprised that the movie got so much hype. Good marketing I guess.

By the way, I had a cousin who would dismember her Barbie dolls and burn the hair off. After reading your piece, I get why.
